How does remote desktop software work?

 Remote desktop software works by sending encrypted data packets from the host computer to the remote computer over the Internet. The transmitted data contains information about the host screen, (i.e) it actually shares the host screen with the remote computer. Remote desktop software compresses data in large amounts to minimize the amount of bandwidth

       If you want to access the system remotely, you need to configure remote desktop software on both the host (the local computer that controls the connection) and the client/target (the remote computer to be accessed). After successfully connecting to the target computer, the remote desktop software opens a window on the computer that contains a detailed screen view of the target computer

Depending on the remote desktop software and the screen resolution on the computer (your computer and target computer), the target computer can maximize the remote desktop software window to occupy its entire screen. This is particularly useful for computer service technicians because it makes the remote computer appear to be physically located in the same room
